is an Austrian type and graphic designer and a graduate of ÉCAL’s Master Type Design programme. His practice – Office of Personal Responsibility – moves between type design, graphic design, and digital work. Working both independently and with studios such as Bielke&Yang, Alexis Mark, Other Means, Approximate Type, and Studio Malpeso, Maximilian has developed typefaces, books, identities and websites for cultural and commercial clients including Netflix, Philip guston foundation, Aarhus School of Architecture, MuseumsQuartier Wien, and the Heidi Horten Collection. Alongside his studio work, he is active in teaching and lecturing, with engagements including a teaching assistant position at ÉCAL, guest lectures at institutions such as Pratt Institute in New York, and organizing workshops, among others at VERA skole for kunst & design in Copenhagen.
